Hi and welcome to the You

00:00:01

World Order Showcase Podcast this mini little episode is brought to us by Jenny Eberts, who's the mom's money maven and she's going to share with us her one secret to saving on your grocery bill.

00:00:16

She's got lots of secrets.

00:00:17

This is the one she picked.

00:00:20

Welcome, Jennie.

00:00:22

Hey Jill. Thanks.

00:00:23

For having me back.

00:00:24

And you're always so.

00:00:25

Much fun to be around so.

00:00:27

I'm listening to all of my people and.

00:00:29

Everybody is struggling at the grocery store.

00:00:32

We all are, right?

00:00:34

It's crazy.

00:00:34

I mean, we go we out there it is.

00:00:36

It's crazy and there's nothing we can do about it.

00:00:38

So let's have a little fun.

00:00:40

OK.

00:00:42

So we've all got those couple of stores that we that we shop at.

00:00:46

You know one store has something that we get and the other one doesn't.

00:00:49

So my 1 tip is go look at their ads every week.

00:00:56

And buy the stuff on sale.

00:01:00

Yeah, and it doesn't matter if you're going.

00:01:02

Three different grocery stores, right?

00:01:04

Right.

00:01:04

I mean, and especially if you want to really save money, focus on the meat because that's really where we spend most of our money is on on the.

00:01:14

Meat and it this is coming at such a great time because I've got I since we last talked, I started this private Facebook group.

00:01:24

Moms overcoming money, stress and all next month, we're talking about groceries.

00:01:31

So cool.

00:01:31

I love your group.

00:01:32

I've been part.

00:01:33

Of it and you.

00:01:34

Have so many great tips and it's not just about, you know, grocery shopping but you.

00:01:40

Just talk about how.

00:01:41

To find food, how to find recipes for the food that you are buying.

00:01:48

And I think what you were saying is start with the meat.

00:01:51

That buy what's on sale and then figure out what you're gonna make rather than figuring out what you're gonna make and having to go and buy the ingredients and spending all that money when it when what you make isn't on sale.

00:02:04

So is that kind of what you're.

00:02:06

That, yes, just.

00:02:08

So in your menu for the week around the meat.

00:02:12

And it's a bonus.

00:02:13

If you see pastas on sale or rice is.

00:02:16

On sale you.

00:02:16

Know then you can keep evolving from there.

00:02:19

But if that's too much, start with the meat and then maybe next week you can add meat and starch or you know, whatever.

00:02:29

Make it yours.

00:02:30

There's no primary reason.

00:02:33

Around here I know we have a case lot sales and you can buy canned goods on sale for like half the price in a lot of cases.

00:02:43

And it's staples things that you can.

00:02:47

Store because everybody's really big on food storage around here, but.

00:02:52

If you plan.

00:02:53

Using case lot sales like if you know you.

00:02:58

Go through.

00:02:59

You know.

00:03:00

20 cans of little tomatoes cause you make a lot of stuff with tomatoes in it.

00:03:04

Buy it, then use it all year.

00:03:07

It's not going.

00:03:07

To go out of out of date in a year and then you can go case not to case.

00:03:12

That's right.

00:03:13

And it's amazing how brilliant minds think alike, because this is exactly what we're going to talk about in August.

00:03:20

And in July, we went through a whole series of Christmas in July because now's a great time to think about getting those Christmas so.

00:03:28

Yes, the themes change every month. I do weekly Q&A sessions that are open for any questions or I teach you know it. It is I I want to build a community to help.

00:03:42

That is so awesome.

00:03:43

And don't forget to get more of Jennie's insight on.
