How to Reframe Menopause as a Spiritual Initiation with Vanessa Nixon

Menopause is often misunderstood as merely a physical transition. However, Vanessa Nixon invites us to see it as much more—a powerful spiritual initiation that holds transformative potential for every woman. Through her insights and holistic approach, Vanessa encourages us to honor this phase of life as a profound rite of passage, shifting our perspective from merely managing symptoms to embracing a journey of self-discovery and renewal.

Embracing Menopause as a Sacred Threshold

In our society, menopause is often approached with apprehension, focusing on the physical discomforts. Vanessa Nixon, however, teaches that menopause is a sacred threshold, one that signals a shift into a new, deeper phase of wisdom. She sees it as an invitation to explore our inner selves, reconnect with our intuition, and release what no longer serves us. This reframe allows women to approach menopause with a sense of reverence, acknowledging it as an important spiritual milestone.

Letting Go: The Power of Releasing Old Stories

One of the central themes in Vanessa’s approach to menopause is the concept of release. She encourages women to use this time to let go of societal expectations, limiting beliefs, and outdated narratives about their worth and identity. As we enter menopause, we are given a unique opportunity to shed the layers that have been holding us back. Vanessa guides women through this powerful process of release, helping them to emerge feeling more authentic, grounded, and aligned with their true selves.

Rediscovering Inner Wisdom and Intuition

Vanessa believes that menopause opens a doorway to our intuition and inner wisdom like no other time in life. Free from the biological cycles that have governed much of life until now, many women find themselves more attuned to their inner voice and spiritual insights. Vanessa helps women tap into this newfound awareness, teaching them to honor their instincts and recognize the spiritual guidance that naturally flows during this time. For her, menopause is a call to turn inward, allowing women to cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves.

Cultivating Self-Care and Spiritual Rituals

Navigating menopause as a spiritual initiation means creating rituals that nurture both body and soul. Vanessa emphasizes the importance of self-care practices that are intentional and spiritually enriching. She encourages women to incorporate rituals like meditation, journaling, herbal support, and quiet reflection to honor this phase as a time of healing and personal growth. Through these practices, women can celebrate menopause as a period of transformation, rather than seeing it as a loss.

Becoming a Wise Woman: Embracing the Crone Archetype

In many traditions, menopause marks the transition into the “wise woman” phase of life, often represented by the archetype of the Crone. Vanessa helps women see the beauty in embracing this archetype, as it symbolizes wisdom, insight, and inner strength. This perspective empowers women to step confidently into their role as mentors, guides, and leaders, sharing their wisdom with those around them. Rather than fearing aging, Vanessa inspires women to embrace the power, grace, and purpose that come with it.

Your Spiritual Journey Through Menopause

With Vanessa Nixon’s guidance, menopause becomes more than a physical change; it is a deeply spiritual initiation that reconnects women with their true selves. Her holistic approach to this transition reminds us that this time of life is one to be cherished, celebrated, and honored. For those who are ready to see menopause as a journey of transformation, Vanessa offers the wisdom, tools, and support to guide them through this sacred phase with grace and confidence.

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: important, vibrant, healthy and impactful phase of their lives through nature, natural health, natural movement, and natural beauty, here to share with us how to reframe menopause as a spiritual initiation. Welcome to the show, Vanessa. It's really great to have you here.

3

::

Vanessa Nixon: You, Jill. I'm really delighted to be here, and I'm excited about our conversation.

4

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

5

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: how did you get started in all of this? Because

6

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm sure you didn't just wake up one day and decide. Oh, I'm just gonna help menopausal women.

7

::

Vanessa Nixon: That's a great question. And there's actually 2 parts

8

::

Vanessa Nixon: to that.

9

::

Vanessa Nixon: My

10

::

Vanessa Nixon: my path in natural healing began. When I was a young woman I was chronically ill for a number of years, through my late teens and early twenties.

11

::

Vanessa Nixon: and my health was degenerating. I was kind of caught in a downward spiral.

12

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I was following the, you know, conventional medical wisdom, seeing doctors taking a lot of antibiotics.

13

::

Vanessa Nixon: and toward the end of this period I had been put on daily antibiotics for about 2 years.

14

::

Vanessa Nixon: and so, as you probably know, that decimated my immune system.

15

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so

16

::

Vanessa Nixon: one day a friend of mine noticed that I was taking antibiotics every day, and asked why.

17

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I told them the story

18

::

Vanessa Nixon: of my chronic illness, which by that time had been going on for about 7 years.

19

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

20

::

Vanessa Nixon: and he asked me a question that nobody in all of those years had ever asked me.

21

::

Vanessa Nixon: He asked me.

22

::

Vanessa Nixon: well, is it helping.

23

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, right.

24

::

Vanessa Nixon: A simple question, but so important.

25

::

Vanessa Nixon: for in so many different situations for us to just stop

26

::

Vanessa Nixon: and ask ourselves, is it helping? I had never asked myself that question, and when I did I realized no, it was not helping. In fact, I felt.

27

::

Vanessa Nixon: even at that time when I didn't know anything about health or natural healing. I felt that it was making me worse.

28

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

29

::

Vanessa Nixon: he said, Well, when I when I get sick I go to see an herbalist, and I'd be happy to introduce you if you're interested.

30

::

Vanessa Nixon: I had never heard of herbalism.

31

::

Vanessa Nixon: I didn't know there were any other options other than conventional medical care at that time.

32

::

Vanessa Nixon: and so that conversation

33

::

Vanessa Nixon: was a huge turning point for me, because it opened my mind

34

::

Vanessa Nixon: to realizing that there were so many other options.

35

::

Vanessa Nixon: It wasn't just. There was one other option. There were many other options.

36

::

Vanessa Nixon: and so it was a just a huge moment of expansion for me

37

::

Vanessa Nixon: in realizing that

38

::

Vanessa Nixon: I had a lot more power in that situation than I had ever realized. I was a choice.

39

::

Vanessa Nixon: and up to that point, I'd always given the responsibility for my health to somebody else.

40

::

Vanessa Nixon: So that

41

::

Vanessa Nixon: moment really changed the trajectory of not only my life, but my career. I went to see the herbalist.

42

::

Vanessa Nixon: I was well in a quarter of the time

43

::

Vanessa Nixon: than I usually was whenever I was in about of this chronic illness.

44

::

Vanessa Nixon: and and I was hooked. It was like, Okay, not only is there another option.

45

::

Vanessa Nixon: and not only is it working, but it's working so much faster and so much better, and I can feel the difference in my body.

46

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so I started studying herbalism, and that led me to study nutrition, and then homeopathy and flower instances, and eventually I got my degree in traditional naturopathy

47

::

Vanessa Nixon: as well as a master's in in herbal medicine. And

48

::

Vanessa Nixon: then the second part came. When I started going through perimenopause.

49

::

Vanessa Nixon: and by this time I had spent several decades

50

::

Vanessa Nixon: elevating my health to optimal levels

51

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

52

::

Vanessa Nixon: had healed myself of chronic illness.

53

::

Vanessa Nixon: Had been raising 3 daughters

54

::

Vanessa Nixon: completely with natural medicine.

55

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

56

::

Vanessa Nixon: still with the knowledge and experience that I had.

57

::

Vanessa Nixon: perimenopause crept up on me without my noticing, and suddenly I found myself at a time of life

58

::

Vanessa Nixon: where it seemed like everything was suddenly falling apart.

59

::

Vanessa Nixon: I was having erratic mood swings. I was

60

::

Vanessa Nixon: beyond stress.

61

::

Vanessa Nixon: I was in a marriage that was failing.

62

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I didn't know how to navigate that

63

::

Vanessa Nixon: My! My periods had started changing, and they had always been very regular, and it took me a while

64

::

Vanessa Nixon: because there were so many things going on at the same time. Also, my oldest daughter was was going off to college. So I was dealing with.

65

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, one of my children leaving the nest for the 1st time, so so many things going on on externally and internally that it took me a few months before I realized, oh.

66

::

Vanessa Nixon: I'm in the Menopausal journey. I'm in that phase.

67

::

Vanessa Nixon: And

68

::

Vanessa Nixon: once I realized that. And I took a step back.

69

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I realized, I have tools. I have tools to deal with this. I have techniques. I know what to do.

70

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I also realized that I had support. I had

71

::

Vanessa Nixon: cultivated this

72

::

Vanessa Nixon: beautiful network of amazing women around me.

73

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I could. I could lean back in that support

74

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

75

::

Vanessa Nixon: and ask for their support and their help in in navigating these very difficult situations. And it was those 2 things.

76

::

Vanessa Nixon: the support leaning back into that support.

77

::

Vanessa Nixon: and reaching out for for new support.

78

::

Vanessa Nixon: as well as

79

::

Vanessa Nixon: realizing that I had the tools.

80

::

Vanessa Nixon: I I had the knowledge, I had the wisdom

81

::

Vanessa Nixon: to know how to

82

::

Vanessa Nixon: deal with this initiation, this initiatory period of life which is

83

::

Vanessa Nixon: so similar for so many women.

84

::

Vanessa Nixon: And when I realized that we're all going through this. We all go through this period of life, and we all

85

::

Vanessa Nixon: suddenly feel like everything is changing.

86

::

Vanessa Nixon: whether things are breaking down or whether new things are happening, but it's a period of life for almost all women. Where

87

::

Vanessa Nixon: we come into a new space, there's a new energy, and

88

::

Vanessa Nixon: we're not prepared.

89

::

Vanessa Nixon: Our culture doesn't prepare us for this.

90

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

91

::

Vanessa Nixon: so many women

92

::

Vanessa Nixon: are not prepared in their health either.

93

::

Vanessa Nixon: They don't come into it, having 3 decades of working on their health like I did.

94

::

Vanessa Nixon: They don't have that advantage that I had.

95

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so when they come into this and all of these things start happening.

96

::

Vanessa Nixon: It really feels like

97

::

Vanessa Nixon: for some women. They're losing their mind, or it feels like

98

::

Vanessa Nixon: their body. Just

99

::

Vanessa Nixon: they don't recognize it anymore. It feels very unfamiliar.

100

::

Vanessa Nixon: and they don't understand why, and they don't know what to do about it, and they might go to their doctor, and their doctor says just there's nothing we can do about. It's just the way it is, or.

101

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Give you some antidepressants.

102

::

Vanessa Nixon: Yes, yes, let's put you on some medication.

103

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Mess up your hormones with

104

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: hormone treatments.

105

::

Vanessa Nixon: Exactly exactly, and and they don't feel heard.

106

::

Vanessa Nixon: They don't feel like

107

::

Vanessa Nixon: their healthcare practitioners are actually listening to what they are saying. They need.

108

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: No, they aren't.

109

::

Vanessa Nixon: Right, and they and they don't feel that support, and they don't know where to go to get that support. And because nobody's talking about it. Our medical professionals aren't taught

110

::

Vanessa Nixon: anything about menopause.

111

::

Vanessa Nixon: so they don't have. They don't know what to do.

112

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I've I've I've heard a lot of doctors say, you know, they they actually would love to know what to do. They just they're they're clueless

113

::

Vanessa Nixon: because their training was very deficient when it when it came to

114

::

Vanessa Nixon: how to support women through this period of life, and

115

::

Vanessa Nixon: what.

116

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: If it doesn't start that

117

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: even when your your 1st

118

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: beginning, your cycle, you're you're told to go to the doctor and he'll put you on Birth Control pills. And so that starts you down this path of medical interventions which you really don't need

119

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and then you have your babies in the hospital because God forbid you have them at home

120

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: like you're like.

121

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's not like you weren't equipped to have children

122

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: at home. Just give on with your life. You're not. You're not sick. You're just

123

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: doing what your body was designed to do. And then.

124

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: as as your years go by, you're just like you hit menopause. And then, all of a sudden, you're like.

125

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Oh, oh, now, what do I do? So you've got all this experience of going and having these medical interventions that you think that. Okay? So I just go and get hormone replacement therapy, because obviously I'm broken

126

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: rather than

127

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: going to someone like you and getting actual help.

128

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: moving.

129

::

Vanessa Nixon: Tina.

130

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Process naturally.

131

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I love that you. You hit on something that that I really love speaking to, and that is that especially for women.

132

::

Vanessa Nixon: What we see is this pattern of the medical establishment pathologizing

133

::

Vanessa Nixon: the natural phases of womanhood from

134

::

Vanessa Nixon: 1st menarch through pregnancy, through the Menopausal journey.

135

::

Vanessa Nixon: and those phases of life are not a disease

136

::

Vanessa Nixon: there today.

137

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Were created.

138

::

Vanessa Nixon: They're they're not

139

::

Vanessa Nixon: They are not

140

::

Vanessa Nixon: ailments.

141

::

Vanessa Nixon: they are life phases. And our medical establishment.

142

::

Vanessa Nixon: and almost all the research that has been done

143

::

Vanessa Nixon: that our medical establishment draws from are done on men.

144

::

Vanessa Nixon: They're done on male subjects.

145

::

Vanessa Nixon: and very little research has been done on women, and the natural cycles and rhythms and phases of life that we are supposed to go through.

146

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so

147

::

Vanessa Nixon: doctors aren't taught

148

::

Vanessa Nixon: that. Yes, your your hormones are supposed to be different in different phases of life. They're not supposed to stay the same and and so we don't get that in our in our culture, we're conditioned to think that. Okay.

149

::

Vanessa Nixon: yes, we have puberty, and our bodies change, and because our culture

150

::

Vanessa Nixon: encourages

151

::

Vanessa Nixon: the the the youthful twenties, early thirties. Body of a woman.

152

::

Vanessa Nixon: Then, as we go through puberty, we look forward to those changes in our bodies, because that's what a woman is supposed to look like in our culture.

153

::

Vanessa Nixon: But then, when we get to the other side of the the reproductive phase of life.

154

::

Vanessa Nixon: our culture tells us, no, you're supposed to keep looking like that forever.

155

::

Vanessa Nixon: when, of course, naturally.

156

::

Vanessa Nixon: our bodies, when they are done with the reproductive phase of life our bodies are supposed to change, because our bodies. Our hormones

157

::

Vanessa Nixon: were that way

158

::

Vanessa Nixon: so that we could reproduce if we chose to.

159

::

Vanessa Nixon: You don't need the same levels of hormones.

160

::

Vanessa Nixon: We don't need the say our bodies to function in the same way in the space of life, and that's how it's supposed to be, and that is an opportunity for us. We were taught that.

161

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know. It's something

162

::

Vanessa Nixon: that we're deficient in, you know. In fact, the medical establishment has

163

::

Vanessa Nixon: framed menopause as a disease of deficiency.

164

::

Vanessa Nixon: We're deficient in hormones, in menopause. It's actually framed as a state of disease.

165

::

Vanessa Nixon: So no wonder women are confused, and don't feel supported and feel invisible, and feel like there's some.

166

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Broken.

167

::

Vanessa Nixon: They feel broke.

168

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Getting.

169

::

Vanessa Nixon: Yeah. And that's so sad that it it really is heartbreaking

170

::

Vanessa Nixon: to to understand that that is what women are feeling.

171

::

Vanessa Nixon: Many women, if not most women during this phase of life.

172

::

Vanessa Nixon: When this is, this is natural, this is normal. This is what we're supposed to be going through. This is what we're supposed to look like.

173

::

Vanessa Nixon: This is what our hormones are supposed to be doing. And in some cultures, especially some of the more ancient matriarchal cultures.

174

::

Vanessa Nixon: women looked forward to this phase of life.

175

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And they should.

176

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's great.

177

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I will. This is my favorite stage of life. I've had 5 kids.

178

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I've been through the gamut

179

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and I could. It's just like

180

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I can regulate my moods.

181

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm not really dependent on you know where I am in my cycle

182

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when I wake up in the morning, and

183

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's i i have so much more power at this point in my life. Part of it's because, you know, there's a certain give a

184

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: flip

185

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: aspect to it when you reach this point.

186

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because you're done with the child bearing years, and and you're done with having to try to find that partner to to reproduce with. And you know we are human beings

187

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: we are. We do have some instincts for reproduction. We need them to like, continue on with

188

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the

189

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the species. But

190

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you get to a point where

191

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that

192

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that was before. And now this is, that's opportunity. And it's really a great opportunity for women to just step into who they were really designed to be. It's not the end of your life. It's really the beginning, which I think is what you're all about. It's the initiation into chrome. Them.

193

::

Vanessa Nixon: Yes, yes, and you know there are, as I said, other cultures that really revere this period of life because they understand that.

194

::

Vanessa Nixon: You know, as women.

195

::

Vanessa Nixon: we have gone through so many things in our life. We have been

196

::

Vanessa Nixon: in positions of leadership, in

197

::

Vanessa Nixon: whether we had children, whether we were in a career. All of the experiences we've had. We're now in this position of of holding wisdom, of being the matriarchs.

198

::

Vanessa Nixon: and in some societies, you know.

199

::

Vanessa Nixon: That is why

200

::

Vanessa Nixon: young girls looked forward to this. They knew that they were going to be in a place of leadership, of wisdom. They were going to be the elders of the community, and those were the people who were looked up to in society. Those were the the people that

201

::

Vanessa Nixon: the community went to for answers, for support, for leadership.

202

::

Vanessa Nixon: And

203

::

Vanessa Nixon: unfortunately, our society is not like that. And I think that's

204

::

Vanessa Nixon: You know why, talking about menopause has been such a taboo subject.

205

::

Vanessa Nixon: Because that doesn't quite fit with the patriarchal structure of our society, and I think it's time to change that it's time to start having the conversation. It's time to start the dialogue. And what you said about this being your favorite phase of your life. That's so true for so many women, once they

206

::

Vanessa Nixon: start to understand. This is this is an opportunity in traditional Chinese medicine. They call it the second spring.

207

::

Vanessa Nixon: which is that it's a rebirth. It's like this is the second.

208

::

Vanessa Nixon: 3, rd or for some woman the second half of your life you might have a whole other half of your life.

209

::

Vanessa Nixon: and for many women this is the 1st time in their lives that they are able to focus on themselves, and what they want to do with their life.

210

::

Vanessa Nixon: The 1st half was all about.

211

::

Vanessa Nixon: maybe education, maybe building a career, maybe having a family finding a partner. All of your energy was focused outward.

212

::

Vanessa Nixon: And for many women this is the very 1st time they can actually reflect

213

::

Vanessa Nixon: and be introspective and focus inward. On

214

::

Vanessa Nixon: what gifts do I have that I want to bring to the world.

215

::

Vanessa Nixon: Now that I have done all of this nurturing and support. How can I nurture

216

::

Vanessa Nixon: myself? How can I nurture my talents.

217

::

Vanessa Nixon: How can I use this rebirth

218

::

Vanessa Nixon: and this

219

::

Vanessa Nixon: this creative source energy that used to go into reproduction? Now we still have that same energy we still have that womb space, whether we have a physical womb anymore or not. Whether a woman has had a hysterectomy. She still has this, this womb space that is the seat of her creativity.

220

::

Vanessa Nixon: And we can use that energy to birth

221

::

Vanessa Nixon: projects, new careers, books.

222

::

Vanessa Nixon: communities.

223

::

Vanessa Nixon: and our life's work.

224

::

Vanessa Nixon: You know this can be such

225

::

Vanessa Nixon: a beautiful, productive, impactful time.

226

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I think that is what this time of life is.

227

::

Vanessa Nixon: truly for. It's for women

228

::

Vanessa Nixon: to

229

::

Vanessa Nixon: really comprehend the depth of their power

230

::

Vanessa Nixon: and their unique magic and their wisdom.

231

::

Vanessa Nixon: And how can we bring that into the world and make the world a better place with it?

232

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Oh, I love that so much. It's just like it. It speaks to legacy building, which is just

233

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: whether you have children, and you leave a legacy through your children, or you don't have children. We are all here in in the creative process, where we are leaving a legacy of some sort, whether

234

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you know it's through connections with other people. And

235

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: we all have spiritual children, whether they're physical children or just

236

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: people that we meet, that we interact with. They become

237

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: part of who we are.

238

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and they carry on our message

239

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: in the future. I know you've written a book

240

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: metamorphosis, rituals, spells, and natural remedies for perimid and postmenopausal women.

241

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You want to talk about that a little bit. I love the name of the book just.

242

::

Vanessa Nixon: Thank you.

243

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Right off the bat. It speaks to me.

244

::

Vanessa Nixon: Well, and I wanted it to speak to that

245

::

Vanessa Nixon: that magical energy and the the metamorphosis

246

::

Vanessa Nixon: of our menopause, because it really is that

247

::

Vanessa Nixon: going into the chrysalis and feeling like everything's breaking apart or turning into goo.

248

::

Vanessa Nixon: But it needs to do that in order to reform into this butterfly, into this beautiful new phase of life, and I think that when we understand that as women, it's a lot easier to navigate

249

::

Vanessa Nixon: it, then then, if you have no idea what's happening and

250

::

Vanessa Nixon: and because this is a natural phase, because our body is meant to do this, our body knows what to do. Our body knows how to help us through this. If we can lean back into our own wisdom, into that innate body wisdom we all have, and into that

251

::

Vanessa Nixon: ancestral knowledge that

252

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, generations and generations ago

253

::

Vanessa Nixon: all women had this wisdom

254

::

Vanessa Nixon: of how to use the plants, how to use food, how to use nature

255

::

Vanessa Nixon: as medicine.

256

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I think we all have that ancestral memory

257

::

Vanessa Nixon: of that, that innate knowledge.

258

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so this book is about

259

::

Vanessa Nixon: helping us remember

260

::

Vanessa Nixon: helping us remember how to

261

::

Vanessa Nixon: to eat healing foods, how to use herbs as medicine, how to use

262

::

Vanessa Nixon: energy.

263

::

Vanessa Nixon: how to align ourselves, how to move our bodies in natural ways, ways that are natural to us

264

::

Vanessa Nixon: to keep that energy flowing.

265

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so you know, it touches on all of those various aspects of

266

::

Vanessa Nixon: different natural modalities, whether it's nutrition or herbs or homeopathy, flower essences, energy practices. I talk a little bit about belly dance, because that's 1 of the things I have my expertise in

267

::

Vanessa Nixon: as a

268

::

Vanessa Nixon: as a very ancient cultural practice that was designed for a woman's body to help her through

269

::

Vanessa Nixon: these phases that she navigates

270

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

271

::

Vanessa Nixon: so, whether it's belly dance, whether it's yoga, whether it's Tai Chi, whether it's gardening, you know.

272

::

Vanessa Nixon: really moving our bodies, getting our energy moving on, sticking those stuck places so that we can continue to go through those cycles that we go through, even after our menstrual cycle has

273

::

Vanessa Nixon: stopped. We are still cyclical beings. We still have rhythms that we go through, whether it's the lunar cycle.

274

::

Vanessa Nixon: whether it's the seasonal cycles of nature when we can

275

::

Vanessa Nixon: be in tune with

276

::

Vanessa Nixon: who we are as

277

::

Vanessa Nixon: as a woman.

278

::

Vanessa Nixon: and when we can listen to those messages.

279

::

Vanessa Nixon: and that knowledge that comes through our intuition and use nature

280

::

Vanessa Nixon: as our guide. Through all of these phases.

281

::

Vanessa Nixon: then we can really find this higher optimal level of health

282

::

Vanessa Nixon: that supports us to bring our dreams and

283

::

Vanessa Nixon: creations into the world in a really powerful way.

284

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It makes you happy.

285

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Happiness, element to to just

286

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: being able to be and and to

287

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to sit in the energy that is you.

288

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You're not broken, you're enough.

289

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You're created perfectly.

290

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Just allow it to be okay. And.

291

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I. I have to comment on this. You probably already know this.

292

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but your name means butterfly, and when you start talking about metamorphosis and crystallis and stuff. It's like.

293

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: yes.

294

::

Vanessa Nixon: I do know. I do know that. In fact, when I was a little girl

295

::

Vanessa Nixon: my mother had a bookshelf, and you know, back. Then everybody had a set of encyclopedias and a dictionary, and

296

::

Vanessa Nixon: and my mother had this really thick dictionary, and the front of it was a regular dictionary, and in the back it had different kinds of dictionaries, and one was a name dictionary.

297

::

Vanessa Nixon: and I loved going through the name dictionary. And yes, I always looked up. My name Vanessa is Greek, and it means butterfly, and so I've always had a fascination with butterflies, and in fact, the

298

::

Vanessa Nixon: the image on the front cover of is of a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.

299

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so it does have that double meaning of. Yes, that's me.

300

::

Vanessa Nixon: and that's that's, I think

301

::

Vanessa Nixon: it's so perfect, because that's that's what my work is all about.

302

::

Vanessa Nixon: And that's what this phase is all about is that menomorphosis

303

::

Vanessa Nixon: that we all go through that we are

304

::

Vanessa Nixon: at this

305

::

Vanessa Nixon: moment in history.

306

::

Vanessa Nixon: We have the opportunity to go through, because just 200 years ago, the average lifespan of a woman here in the United States was like 35 years old.

307

::

Vanessa Nixon: so millions and millions of women throughout history have not had the opportunity

308

::

Vanessa Nixon: to go through this very powerful initiation.

309

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: That a lot of them that did in the past. They were killed

310

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because they had this innate wisdom

311

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that threatened

312

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the patriarchy, and so many women were incarcerated because of. They called them mentally ill, and they did all kinds of like torturous things to women.

313

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because when you reach a certain point in your life menopause you, you become somebody else.

314

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's not even a choice. You you just

315

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you. Your body just moves you into the next phase, just as a young girl is not a teenager

316

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is not

317

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: a young woman.

318

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: They they change

319

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: physically, they change, but

320

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: who they are, changes fundamentally, and as you get older you change some more. We are never the same being. From day to day. We change every day, and

321

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's just it's

322

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you've become so much more powerful. I there's just like.

323

::

Vanessa Nixon: Yes, yes, I love that. You're speaking to this. And I you know I think about this evolution as you're becoming more and more of yourself.

324

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: God.

325

::

Vanessa Nixon: Who you really are.

326

::

Vanessa Nixon: and sometimes we have to shed all of the

327

::

Vanessa Nixon: things that have been placed upon us

328

::

Vanessa Nixon: by society, by family, by.

329

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, whatever we've experienced in our lives.

330

::

Vanessa Nixon: And this this process of of menopause is a process of shedding all of that old outdated.

331

::

Vanessa Nixon: inauthentic, untrue layers that aren't really us.

332

::

Vanessa Nixon: And finally, you know.

333

::

Vanessa Nixon: getting rid of all that goo in this little, the safe chrysalis getting rid of all of it, and then coming out as this beautiful new being that truly is who you are, authentically.

334

::

Vanessa Nixon: And and it's not to say that that's an easy process, because for many women, I mean, when think about the caterpillar going into the cocoon and turning to Goo.

335

::

Vanessa Nixon: That can't feel great, you know. That probably is very confusing, and might be very difficult. And so I'm not saying that that symptoms that women are having are not real, that it's all just, you know, butterflies all the time.

336

::

Vanessa Nixon: It's an initiation

337

::

Vanessa Nixon: with everything that goes with the you know the fire that goes with, along with that initiation

338

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

339

::

Vanessa Nixon: our innate wisdom. Our bodies give us messages to help us know

340

::

Vanessa Nixon: how to navigate

341

::

Vanessa Nixon: all of those symptoms. We might be having issues that might come up.

342

::

Vanessa Nixon: and nature provides for us so many tools.

343

::

Vanessa Nixon: so many resources, so many techniques

344

::

Vanessa Nixon: to help us to use

345

::

Vanessa Nixon: these things that come up

346

::

Vanessa Nixon: to expand ourselves even more

347

::

Vanessa Nixon: into more power, more confidence.

348

::

Vanessa Nixon: more impact.

349

::

Vanessa Nixon: more of of who we are to bring to the world.

350

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And I love that this is happening now, because the young women who are coming up now

351

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: are are starting to see older women stepping into. Hey?

352

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You're just starting, baby.

353

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You have so much to look forward to in your life.

354

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because, look.

355

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: look what you can, which you have to look forward to. It's not. You're not just like.

356

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: okay. This is the pinnacle of my life. I better grab all the gusto while I got it.

357

::

Vanessa Nixon: Right.

358

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You're gonna have so much more. And it's different from men

359

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: men. They kind of peak around 25 to 30,

360

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and

361

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it doesn't get any better than that for them.

362

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Everything else becomes a struggle. They they have different things, and they have different hormone cycles. And it's not that men are bad or anything. It's just. They're different.

363

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and they will never understand or experience the the majesty

364

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: of becoming an older woman

365

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: or the the cycle of life of a woman. It's it's

366

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's such a gift to be a woman.

367

::

Vanessa Nixon: It is, it is! It's it's a wonderful gift. And

368

::

Vanessa Nixon: and men are wonderful. And yes, their physiology is different, and their cycles are are the cycles that they go through in their lives are very different. And you know they go through. You know, an andropause is you know what it's called technically as well. But it is different. It's different from from what women go through. And

369

::

Vanessa Nixon: The

370

::

Vanessa Nixon: the cyclical nature of a woman is very unique.

371

::

Vanessa Nixon: And it's

372

::

Vanessa Nixon: one of the reasons women, I believe, are so resilient

373

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

374

::

Vanessa Nixon: are innately so powerful is because

375

::

Vanessa Nixon: throughout our entire lives

376

::

Vanessa Nixon: we have to traverse these cycles we have to adapt, we have to be flexible.

377

::

Vanessa Nixon: and that is what creates strength and resilience is being adaptable

378

::

Vanessa Nixon: to different circumstances.

379

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, being able. You know our bodies adapting to

380

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know what happens during adolescence during 1st men arc

381

::

Vanessa Nixon: what happens to our bodies during pregnancy and postpartum?

382

::

Vanessa Nixon: And what happens to our bodies during perimenopause and menopause and post menopause. All of those changes strengthen us

383

::

Vanessa Nixon: and create more and more resilience. As we mature, we get more resilient, and

384

::

Vanessa Nixon: and we so our bodies are strengthened

385

::

Vanessa Nixon: and we become more empowered.

386

::

Vanessa Nixon: And

387

::

Vanessa Nixon: one

388

::

Vanessa Nixon: One tidbit of information that I heard once that I just loved was

389

::

Vanessa Nixon: about.

390

::

Vanessa Nixon: How

391

::

Vanessa Nixon: one of the reasons that ancient cultures believed women were so powerful at this time of life is because

392

::

Vanessa Nixon: they were giving their their magic, their healing through their menstrual blood

393

::

Vanessa Nixon: throughout their lives.

394

::

Vanessa Nixon: They're giving it out to their communities, their families, their children. They're giving of themselves.

395

::

Vanessa Nixon: But after menopause they retain that power and that magic, and they hold it within

396

::

Vanessa Nixon: so that they can be

397

::

Vanessa Nixon: such powerful leaders

398

::

Vanessa Nixon: so that they can

399

::

Vanessa Nixon: spread such

400

::

Vanessa Nixon: powerful magic in the world so that they can truly use

401

::

Vanessa Nixon: their creativity with such impact.

402

::

Vanessa Nixon: And I love that concept

403

::

Vanessa Nixon: that once we hold our blood within

404

::

Vanessa Nixon: that creates such power that we can really

405

::

Vanessa Nixon: change the world.

406

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: We are changing the world.

407

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's it's happening.

408

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So

409

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you work with people do, or women

410

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: in groups, one on one. How how does all that work.

411

::

Vanessa Nixon: One on one I have. I have 3 different branches of my business, the natural health.

412

::

Vanessa Nixon: and then the natural beauty. I have my own natural cosmetic line, and then the natural movement piece is through the belly dance classes that I teach but mostly when I

413

::

Vanessa Nixon: mostly I work with women, one to one, and I help them to weave all of these things together, to create a really strong foundation for their health.

414

::

Vanessa Nixon: and help them to navigate these

415

::

Vanessa Nixon: initiations, to traverse these waters that are very unfamiliar for most of us in our culture, because we haven't been prepared. And so

416

::

Vanessa Nixon: that way.

417

::

Vanessa Nixon: we can really do the deep work we can really look at what's underneath everything that's going on, and be able to

418

::

Vanessa Nixon: create that resilience and that strength and so we usually, you know, start with

419

::

Vanessa Nixon: nurturing yourself. How are how? How do you nurture yourself? Not only with food and drink, but

420

::

Vanessa Nixon: in what you absorb in your environment, what you watch on your screens like, how are you nourishing yourself.

421

::

Vanessa Nixon: body, mind, and soul?

422

::

Vanessa Nixon: And then how can we use these other natural supports, whether they're herbs or homeopathic remedies, or energy practices or movement?

423

::

Vanessa Nixon: How can we use all of these things to support

424

::

Vanessa Nixon: your health, to elevate it.

425

::

Vanessa Nixon: to help you to find those stuck places.

426

::

Vanessa Nixon: Clear them out. Listen to that intuition, strengthen

427

::

Vanessa Nixon: the that inner voice.

428

::

Vanessa Nixon: so that you can hear the messages that your body's sending you really clearly.

429

::

Vanessa Nixon: and then be able to follow that up with with action.

430

::

Vanessa Nixon: so you can hear what your soul and your spirit really wants to bring out to the world and have a healthy body to.

431

::

Vanessa Nixon: to fulfill it, to fulfill that that mission. You know we all have a dream. We all have a mission. We all have a purpose.

432

::

Vanessa Nixon: and it's a lot easier to fulfill that if we have a healthy body, strong, healthy body to enable us to do that.

433

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's really not as hard as it might sound. No matter when you're starting.

434

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's just start.

435

::

Vanessa Nixon: It can be easy, and it can be simple. I mean, the steps are simple.

436

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

437

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know I I came from chronic illness where really my health had deteriorated to to a point that I had very little immune immune system that was functioning.

438

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

439

::

Vanessa Nixon: And in a very short period of time I was able to turn that around, taking a few simple steps. So yes, it can sound very complex.

440

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

441

::

Vanessa Nixon: that's 1 of the reasons I like to work with women, one to one, so that we can break it down and personalize it to exactly what's going on with that individual woman

442

::

Vanessa Nixon: and say, Okay, well, here's the 1st step. Let's just start here. Here's a second step, the 3rd step.

443

::

Vanessa Nixon: and

444

::

Vanessa Nixon: and combine it together in a way that it doesn't feel like. Oh, this is so much work this is! I've got so many things to do already that you know. That's 1 of the things that I think stops women, is, it? Feels overwhelming.

445

::

Vanessa Nixon: Oh.

446

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: The idea.

447

::

Vanessa Nixon: Way I eat. I'm gonna have to change the way I exercise. I'm going to have to change everything, but really just making it simple, going step by step

448

::

Vanessa Nixon: and weaving it together in a way that feels good instead of feels overwhelming. That's a a really important part of making any change or shift in your life, is

449

::

Vanessa Nixon: it it you need to? It needs to align.

450

::

Vanessa Nixon: You need to have that energetic alignment with it, and once everything aligns.

451

::

Vanessa Nixon: It's so much smoother.

452

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And your body will tell you. Hey, this is working, or Hey, this isn't working. Instead of having to wait for somebody to come along and ask you, is it working.

453

::

Vanessa Nixon: Exactly exactly right. And that's why we need that connection to our intuition.

454

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And.

455

::

Vanessa Nixon: That we can hear our body when it says.

456

::

Vanessa Nixon: no, that thing is not right. But this, this is this is the thing that's right. And

457

::

Vanessa Nixon: and really

458

::

Vanessa Nixon: it's so empowering

459

::

Vanessa Nixon: when we understand that

460

::

Vanessa Nixon: we know.

461

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, we have the answers.

462

::

Vanessa Nixon: It's it's helpful to have support

463

::

Vanessa Nixon: to be able to hear those answers when we are dealing with some challenging things, but it really comes from inside you.

464

::

Vanessa Nixon: Sometimes you.

465

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Somebody that says, yes.

466

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: what you're hearing from your body

467

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is real. You can listen to it. Sometimes. We just need permission to listen to ourselves.

468

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and you can't get that unless you go to someone else, because

469

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: we need community. And

470

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you know you talk about an initiation and yes, butterflies go into their chrysalis, but it's

471

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and they're by themselves.

472

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but

473

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: they're still in the world. They're not like

474

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: going into something away from the environment. They they hang their things on trees, and you know they're still part of

475

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: of what's happening around them. But

476

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when you're

477

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when you're going through changes like this, it's so

478

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: much more

479

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: impactful and helpful

480

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to have other women who are in the same situation, to

481

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to just sound as a sounding board. Because sometimes you think things when you're when your hormones are all changing, that you're not really sure is this

482

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is this right?

483

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Because I don't know. I haven't traveled this path before, am I on? Am I still on the path?

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And just to have somebody say, Yeah, yeah, that's totally normal.

485

::

Vanessa Nixon: It's separate

486

::

Vanessa Nixon: as women. We are wired for that. We're wired for community. We're wired for collaboration we're in. We're wired for cooperation.

487

::

Vanessa Nixon: Community is so important, and that's 1 of the reasons that I, you know, bring up that the

488

::

Vanessa Nixon: the 2 things that were key for me going through my Menopausal journey were not only that, you know, I had these tools, and I just needed to remember to use them, but the support from my community of women was

489

::

Vanessa Nixon: really instrumental in

490

::

Vanessa Nixon: in navigating the things that I needed to navigate in my situation.

491

::

Vanessa Nixon: It made.

492

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's

493

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: sometimes it's just nice to have somebody say, No, you're not really crazy.

494

::

Vanessa Nixon: Oh, man!

495

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Because you can. You can start to think I'm going crazy.

496

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm having these thoughts, and I don't know where they're coming from. And

497

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: even if you.

498

::

Vanessa Nixon: Had.

499

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Done years of of

500

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: self-care. It it just.

501

::

Vanessa Nixon: I've had women. Say I I feel like I'm losing my mind. I I like I am going crazy, and

502

::

Vanessa Nixon: we and we can feel like that if we don't, because we like you said we haven't been through this yet.

503

::

Vanessa Nixon: This isn't a life experience we've had yet, and because

504

::

Vanessa Nixon: we don't talk about it. In our culture we don't know what to expect. And so yes, just having

505

::

Vanessa Nixon: other women who have walked that path

506

::

Vanessa Nixon: to support you.

507

::

Vanessa Nixon: just to be able to talk, to have these conversations.

508

::

Vanessa Nixon: to have the dialogue. Younger women need to know what to expect, so they can prepare themselves.

509

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And women.

510

::

Vanessa Nixon: Who are going through it now need that support as they're going through it.

511

::

Vanessa Nixon: And

512

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know those of us who have been through this, and who have

513

::

Vanessa Nixon: been able to take the opportunity to see what a gift it is.

514

::

Vanessa Nixon: have so much to lend to younger women.

515

::

Vanessa Nixon: not only where they are now but to help them walk through their own journeys.

516

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: For sure. I

517

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: yeah. I remember asking my mom about it when I 1st started into it. And she was like, Yeah, your aunt and I still have hot flashes, and she was in her, you know.

518

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: early seventies, and like

519

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Oh! And that was all the information she gave me about it.

520

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: This is like

521

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that was no help.

522

::

Vanessa Nixon: Right.

523

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And people weren't talking about it 15 years ago.

524

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: But it's so refreshing to me to to come across people like you who are talking about it, and who are saying, You know, this is this, is

525

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: this is just the beginning of something really special. And because I really do embrace

526

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: this point in my life, and and to get the opportunity to to talk with people that are out there

527

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: beating the drum. And you know there's there's different Menopausal coaches for different

528

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: flavors of of women out there. Because we're we're really varied.

529

::

Vanessa Nixon: All different. We're very unique. And I love that that speaks to the fact that

530

::

Vanessa Nixon: there are options.

531

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know. That's that's 1 of the main

532

::

Vanessa Nixon: problems that I see right now, as people are starting to talk about menopause is.

533

::

Vanessa Nixon: oh, the only option is to take hormone replacement therapy, because this is a disease, as we mentioned earlier. And what I really want women to know is, there are so many options out there. If you're having symptoms. If you're if there are some challenges.

534

::

Vanessa Nixon: so many options, we're not limited to that, you know. I'm not one of those people who says, you know all conventional medical knowledge is wrong. I I'm much more integrated. I think that

535

::

Vanessa Nixon: conventional medicine is great at some things.

536

::

Vanessa Nixon: and very poor at other things.

537

::

Vanessa Nixon: and it's wonderful that we have so many options for all of all of those other things.

538

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so we're not limited.

539

::

Vanessa Nixon: There might be some women in very extreme circumstances that really do need

540

::

Vanessa Nixon: replace hormone replacement therapy for a period of time.

541

::

Vanessa Nixon: But really.

542

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, if that's if that is, you

543

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know. Go ahead and do what is right for you, and then have an exit strategy. You know, how am I? Gonna move to the next phase, how am I going to navigate this? And then what can I do to get off medication to be able to live out this.

544

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, really important phase of my life.

545

::

Vanessa Nixon: and really

546

::

Vanessa Nixon: elevated vibrant.

547

::

Vanessa Nixon: vital health.

548

::

Vanessa Nixon: Let's look at all of the options that are out there.

549

::

Vanessa Nixon: and our bodies know how to navigate this.

550

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: This kind of brings us to the the gift that you're offering our audience, which is 3 secrets to balance your homework naturally, which is an on demand, Masterclass. You want to speak to that for a minute.

551

::

Vanessa Nixon: I do, because there, there is a lot of kind of a groundswell around hormone balance.

552

::

Vanessa Nixon: You know, people are understanding that this is a really big thing, especially for women, because we go through very

553

::

Vanessa Nixon: so many different phases of our lives, and our culture is so unhealthy.

554

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know.

555

::

Vanessa Nixon: not only just in in the way that we're conditioned to think about our bodies, but in the food that's that's out there, and the environmental pollution and all of those things affect our hormones.

556

::

Vanessa Nixon: And so it really is key to keeping us in balance when you understand what's going on with your hormones. But one of the things that

557

::

Vanessa Nixon: I see happening is that

558

::

Vanessa Nixon: there's such a focus on just estrogen and progesterone.

559

::

Vanessa Nixon: And we need to replace.

560

::

Vanessa Nixon: We need to replace these. If you know you're having symptoms in perimenopause or menopause, we need to keep those levels

561

::

Vanessa Nixon: where they were when you were in the reproductive phase of your life, and that's that's not a natural way to think about. Our bodies

562

::

Vanessa Nixon: is going backwards. You know. We need to think about going forwards where our hormones are supposed to decline, but they still need to be in balance.

563

::

Vanessa Nixon: and so our bodies are designed naturally to be in balance

564

::

Vanessa Nixon: through these cycles, and

565

::

Vanessa Nixon: this master class gives some in-depth information, not only around, you know, some of the more

566

::

Vanessa Nixon: scientific information of what's happening with our hormones.

567

::

Vanessa Nixon: but also what's really underneath? What's causing these hormone fluctuations? And how can we address those naturally, so that we don't have to be on medication

568

::

Vanessa Nixon: so that we don't have to rely on.

569

::

Vanessa Nixon: You know other people or other institutions

570

::

Vanessa Nixon: for our health, you know. How can we be in charge? How can we be responsible for our health

571

::

Vanessa Nixon: naturally.

572

::

Vanessa Nixon: and allow our bodies to to go through this natural phase of life and support it. You know, what do our bodies need?

573

::

Vanessa Nixon: How can we support our bodies so that they will in turn support us

574

::

Vanessa Nixon: through this really vital phase of life. That's what that masterclass is all about is

575

::

Vanessa Nixon: teasing out the information

576

::

Vanessa Nixon: around hormone imbalance, and how we really can

577

::

Vanessa Nixon: support ourselves, our hormone balance, and this phase of life

578

::

Vanessa Nixon: through all of these natural options that we have at our fingertips.

579

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So we'll put the link

580

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: for people to to get

581

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: into that master class in the show notes. This has been an amazing conversation, Vanessa. I've really enjoyed it. You've shared so much information with the audience.

582

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: What's the one thing that you hope that they take away from the conversation? I know we've covered so much.

583

::

Vanessa Nixon: There's so many important things, but I think it really comes back to helping women have the confidence to take ownership over their own health

584

::

Vanessa Nixon: to feel empowered

585

::

Vanessa Nixon: to understand. I actually can be in charge

586

::

Vanessa Nixon: of my own health.

587

::

Vanessa Nixon: and have the knowledge

588

::

Vanessa Nixon: to live a really healthy life, for.

589

::

Vanessa Nixon: you know, however many years I'm blessed with.

590

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yes, that's so important. Thank you for joining me today.

591

::

Vanessa Nixon: Thank you so much. It's been a pleasure to

592

::

Vanessa Nixon: talk about these really important things and have this conversation. Thank you, Jill.
