Lift OneSelf: NatNat’s Journey to Healing and Transformation

On a recent episode of The You World Order Showcase Podcast, Jill Hart welcomed Natalie Beddard—affectionately known as NatNat—the founder of Lift OneSelf. Through her personal experiences and professional expertise, NatNat has become a beacon of resilience and empowerment, helping others navigate their healing and transformation journeys with compassion and courage. Her story is a powerful reminder that healing begins within.

Facing the Unknown: NatNat’s Personal Journey

In 2014, NatNat was hospitalized with lesions on her cerebellum and brainstem, leaving her unable to function normally and facing an uncertain future. After 40 days of tests and no diagnosis, she was discharged without a treatment plan. As a single parent of three boys, the uncertainty was overwhelming.

Amid this turmoil, a friend’s invitation to a transcendental meditation seminar became a turning point. Meditation provided a way to quiet the chaos and reconnect with herself. It became the foundation for NatNat’s transformation, helping her navigate trauma, regulate her nervous system, and rediscover her intuition.

“Meditation helped me process the emotional charges stored in my body and reconnect with my intuition,” NatNat shares. “It allowed me to see myself in a new light and begin healing.”

Understanding the Nervous System’s Role in Healing

Central to NatNat’s work is the understanding of the nervous system. She explains how trauma and fear can create defense mechanisms that block vulnerability and connection. These patterns, while protective, often prevent us from fully experiencing life.

NatNat works with clients to regulate their nervous systems, creating a safe space for vulnerability and growth. Through this process, individuals can access their true selves and begin to let go of the layers of pain and conditioning that no longer serve them.

“Your nervous system is not working against you,” NatNat emphasizes. “It’s trying to protect you, but by creating safety within yourself, you can move past these barriers.

The Power of Emotional Awareness

Emotions often feel overwhelming, but NatNat teaches that they are simply information—signals from our body and mind. By observing emotions without judgment, we can begin to understand their messages and release their hold on us.

“Healing isn’t about suppressing emotions,” NatNat explains. “It’s about acknowledging them, understanding their purpose, and allowing them to move through us.”

This process involves moving past patterns like people-pleasing and perfectionism, which often stem from anxiety and fear. By becoming aware of these behaviors, we can shift them and live more authentically.

Lift OneSelf: A Space for Transformation

NatNat founded Lift OneSelf as a platform to help others on their healing and transformation journeys. Through one-on-one coaching, group sessions, and energy healing practices, she creates a safe and supportive environment for transformation. Her clients learn to:

  • Regulate their nervous systems to feel more grounded and connected.
  • Process and release emotional blockages.
  • Reconnect with their intuition and inner power.

Her coaching blends meditation, journaling, and somatic practices to guide clients in creating meaningful change in their lives. Whether online or in person, her sessions are designed to foster healing and growth.

The Ripple Effect of Self-Compassion

NatNat believes that healing isn’t just personal—it’s collective. As we become kinder to ourselves, we naturally extend that kindness to others, contributing to a ripple effect of healing in our communities.

“When you lift yourself, you lift the world,” NatNat says. “Healing yourself creates a ripple of connection and compassion that benefits everyone.”

It takes significant practise to sit with ourselves when conflict comes up. We have been so habituated to numb and suppress by placing things in our mouths to allow the other senses to take over. Either eat, drink, smoke something, these all have an impact on the liver, Yes, even smoking.
Tears have been significant for me to be able to sit in the conflict when the mind and heart meet up with different challenges.
