Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Podcasting, whether as a guest or as a host, is the best way to share your message, get visible and make real change in the world. It's also a powerful way to attract clients.

2

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: You do it strategically.

3

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: specifically, we're talking about finding and approaching guest speakers and finding podcasts to get featured on today, and we've got a gift for you that I'll tell you about at the end. That's going to make this super easy to implement. So stick around. Hey, everybody! Welcome back to the mystic marketing podcast where we show spiritual entrepreneurs and coaches how to amplify their voice and monetize your message

4

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: message. So I'm your host, Jill Hart, the coaches alchemist, and with me, as usual, is Jay Mata, the co-founder of the Gnostic TV network, hey, Jay.

5

::

April & Jay: Gil, how are you? Good day to you?

6

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Good day to you, too. So today, we're going to be talking all about something. I know, you're really passionate about and that is

7

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: podcasting.

8

::

April & Jay: Yeah, very. So.

9

::

April & Jay: The the answer to so many people's so many solution. I say to so many people's wants and desires.

10

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It really is and my word for the year it came to me today is, be visible or get visible. And visibility is podcasting is all about being visible and and being heard and being seen and getting yourself out there and and really it all it, all starts with

11

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: either having your own podcast or being featured as a guest on a podcast or a combination of both? Which what are your thoughts on that.

12

::

April & Jay: So I think in when you start off it has to be a combination of both. In my opinion, I mean depends on you know, I mean, you know, if you're gonna make the biggest impact, I mean, if you're in it to make an impact and say, Look, I wanna I wanna go bigger. Go home. Then you want a combination of both okay? And and that's by having your own podcast that is, the mechanism that

13

::

April & Jay: goes way beyond just being a guest, because, having your own podcast defines you as a credible source of information, right? Being a guest is being a guest, I mean? That's just what that is. It still doesn't define you as a credible source of information. It's just a guest. And someone welcomed you into their someone welcomed you into their house as all it is.

14

::

April & Jay: So when you think in terms of when you think in terms of what you want, that would be the way to go. Now, if it's a matter of Hey, look! I just want to make some extra cash, and maybe being again, then you can choose that way for yourself. So this really be very

15

::

April & Jay: very pragmatic about your your goals, I guess. Kind of like buying gas, you know. You got regular. You got unleaded. Then you got super unleaded, you know. It's like, where do you want to go like how fast you want to go?

16

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And what's the vehicle you're using to get there? Which kind of circles around to something we talked about before, which is knowing what your one big idea is, and you really have to understand what it is you're trying to accomplish

17

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: even before you go as a guest on podcasts. And I talk about that. A lot in my strategic podcast guesting.

18

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Workshop, because it, it's just it's the fundamental piece.

19

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And if you don't understand that piece. Then, when it comes to trying to find a podcast to get featured on, you're likely to just go randomly on anybody's, podcast and then it ends up messing up.

20

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: messing up your message. It it really doesn't do you or the audience any good to just randomly go on podcasts.

21

::

April & Jay: No, it really doesn't. You want to be, you know. I mean, maybe you know, you want to get clear what you want. And look, it's energy, right? So it's number one. You want to make sure, the podcast is going to be relevant to what it is, your business is and and if it's not, then, you know, you're just kind of going against the grain, you know. Who are you talking to? Are you talking? It doesn't matter how big the audience is. See a lot of people get. Oh, I'm talking to a million people. Well, if they're not your audience, you might as well be talking to none.

22

::

April & Jay: you know. So so really think about these things. And and it's it's really bringing it to the point of who's my ideal audience who has my potential customers. And again, that's why maybe consider having a podcast again, because, if you have a, podcast it's also another, much easier way for you to get booked on the right kind of shows, because then that show will reciprocate with you, and you can have them as a guest on too.

23

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah. And then you're you're expanding your audiences in kind of like the spider web network. They come on yours. You go on theirs, and then you go on somebody else's, and somebody else comes on yours, and then you keep branching out into different audiences. But if you're if you're trying to make sure that

24

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: the people that you're having on your podcast as well as the people whose podcasts you're going on to are speaking to the same

25

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: audience, you're you're more likely to help grow each other's podcasts as well as attract the clients that you're meant to help. And you can kind of look at as the Venn diagram. Yeah, everybody has their thing that they're doing. But where you intersect that's that's kind of the

26

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: the the magic spot, if you will.

27

::

April & Jay: Yeah, for sure, for sure on that. It's a it's a it's a way to really kind of put it in perspective for all of you. Just, you know, who are struggling. See the the way you remember. If you think of podcasting, it's really designed for you to

28

::

April & Jay: use this as a place for you to build your ideal scenario, your ideal people. And again, you know, you know we say this often within the show.

29

::

April & Jay: If you'll if you don't have one now, and you have the wherewithal to do it. Consider doing it. It's a game changer, you know. But again, you have to be strategic with it, because I always tell people, too. It's like, if you starting out in and I've seen this play out time and time and time again, Joe people who are starting out. They want to do something they want to. I said, the minute you tell another podcaster, you have your own. Podcast they are much more inclined to book you on their show

30

::

April & Jay: other than that in today's world. You're not a lot of value to them. Let's put it bluntly. You know what I mean, because what can you give them in return? Maybe an affiliate program. They want exposure for their world, too. So think in terms of that when you come in and saying I got the greatest of this, or I have the greatest gift of that. Well, what are you going to do for them.

31

::

April & Jay: You know, if you want something from someone you want to come bearing gifts, and at that invite them as a guest on your show, you know.

32

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Yeah, and leave reviews. There's ways to leave reviews on Apple. I have. I'll share the link with you in the show notes. But there's, there's an easy way to go to apple and review the podcast. Before you go on them. Listen to a couple, episodes of the podcast. That you're thinking about going on and leave a review. Because

33

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: podcasts need good reviews out there.

34

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And it doesn't take that long to do. But it makes a huge difference when you're going on to somebody else's. Podcast and they're more likely to invite you to come and be on their podcast

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I added these, anyway.

43

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: so you, you want to definitely get featured on podcasts. And you definitely want to

44

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: bring bring something to the table. Other than I I have to laugh about

45

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: companies that are out there that want to.

46

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: I want to help you find guests for your podcast I'm, like No, No, please don't. I don't have trouble finding guests for my podcast.

47

::

April & Jay: There.

48

::

April & Jay: Yeah, you don't. You don't really. There's so many out there. You just have to have something, I mean, look, it gets the bottom line. And the moralist story is, if you want something from someone, have something to give them. You know you're coming in asking for something. Have a gift in return. You know what I mean, or on the front end come bearing gifts.

49

::

April & Jay: you know. And again, that's going to be your show that I don't, you know, unless you're you're either that or or offer monies. If you want, if you want to be a guest on podcast, so the actual, remember, think about what you need from the podcaster that's going to interview. You need them to give. You need for them to give it everything they got to make sure you shine so either that's going to be reciprocating, having something in reciprocation, or be willing to pay them.

50

::

April & Jay: And that's how you get what you want out of it. It's up to you how you want to do this. If you don't want to do a, podcast I would say, be willing to willing to pay to be on people's shows. You'll get a much better.

51

::

April & Jay: You will get a much better push for your product and services that way, too.

52

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And not all podcasts are equal. You know, some places you can go. And they're looking for people to come on their. Podcast but they really don't do anything with their podcast they're just kind of like

53

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: playing with the idea of podcasting and it's kind of a waste of time for both of you and the audience

54

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: what little audience they might have unless they actively are marketing their podcast and and pushing it out to their audience. And they have some idea about how to market a podcast. There's more to just creating a podcast. Than hopping on Youtube and starting to talk.

55

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: you can do it.

56

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: But there, there are some technical things that you just need to know.

57

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: but that's a conversation for another day. Let's talk about

58

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: finding guests to be featured on your podcast and well, I said, it's super easy.

59

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and and it is super easy to find guests. But what what are some of your suggestions for for Podcasters that are just starting out, and they're looking to get guests on.

60

::

April & Jay: Well, if you're in the spiritual world, go to the spiritual communities and say, I got my podcast I'm looking for guests, go to these groups post, and you'll get guests. Okay, I mean, go to your market. Go to who you're looking for. You were looking for astrologers. Go to astrology pages. You're looking for. Healers. Go to healing pages wherever you're looking for use social media. Pop it up. People will get up there. You know. You could find them on. You can go to like some of these services. I think pot-omatic podcasts things like that. You can register an account

61

::

April & Jay: there. They'll flood you with gas. I know. I know there's services out there that you literally can get inundated that way, you know, just again, you know.

62

::

April & Jay: Just don't go through the motions. If you're looking to do this as a business, meaning that, you know, if you're going to do this the right way, I see a lot of people like you mentioned it earlier. Joe, like, you know, people, not all podcasts are created equal. Some people just go through the motions of it.

63

::

April & Jay: You you don't really want someone to go through the motions with your business. You know what I mean. You want someone that's in business. Then they'll if they're in business, they'll actually treat your business with respect to, you know, that's really what you're looking for. So just

64

::

April & Jay: just really use that. So you're not wasting your time. You're not wasting your money. You're you're really right there with it. And you know that energy is gonna attract more for you so

65

::

April & Jay: pass for Guest. Yeah, I would say, just

66

::

April & Jay: when you think of guests, think about guests like, if, for example, if you're if you're a coach.

67

::

April & Jay: well, think about who's got your clients and find that kind of guest, you know. You know. What good is it for you to interview someone that is going to teach a life lesson, but has no audience.

68

::

April & Jay: and you already know that life lesson that you can teach. What good is that for you? You want to teach, you want to interview someone that already has an audience of a potential customer base that you have other than that. Then if it's for entertainment purposes, and that's what you're in it for. Then that's fine. But if it's for making money, then, you know, look and find out. You know how these people are going to fit into your plans.

69

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Exactly, and don't be afraid to say no.

70

::

April & Jay: No.

71

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Hey!

72

::

April & Jay: Not at all.

73

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: And

74

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: that goes across the board for everything. You only have so much time and resources, and you need to really be careful about them. And when it comes to inviting guests on your podcast or going on other people's podcasts, you need to really make sure that you're not wasting your time, because it's the one thing you really can't get back.

75

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: You're muted again, Jay.

76

::

April & Jay: Happening here. Oh, sorry about that. Yeah, no, it is the one thing you can't get back. Yeah. And and right now, time is money, you know.

77

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: It is. And you know, over a Gnostic TV there is a Guest directory that I

78

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: many people know about, but it's pretty cool, and it's really easy to get listed over there. And the people that are already hosting their podcasts over on Gnostic TV do go through that directory and they will reach out to you and connect with you.

79

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and you should not be afraid to reach out to the people that are being posted over on the podcast and and connect with them and see if if they're interested in hosting you on their podcasts

80

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and it's just an easy way to get.

81

::

April & Jay: Yeah, link in the description, you know. Check it out, everybody. It's free for you to do that and get a vibe, for you know how it's done.

82

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Exactly exactly. It's and it it like I said, it's a super easy process. I've gone through it myself.

83

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and the gift that I was telling you about is that I have the alchemist guide to podcast audiences which will help you figure out how to find the podcast where your ideal clients are tuning in, and those are the ones that you really do want to get featured on

84

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and along with that guide is a podcast the best to be a guest directory. And it's more than just Facebook groups. There's all of the other directories that are out there, that you can go and find podcasts. Just put your

85

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: put the

86

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: put the solution or the the problem that you were experiencing that caused you to do whatever it is that you're doing to look for the solution to

87

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: in the in the search bar, like apple or spotify, or any of these other directories and go and see which podcasts come up

88

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: and then go to those podcasts and listen to a few episodes and see if they're talking about the kinds of things that you talk about when you're being a guest or being featured on podcasts. And then you can apply and and talk to them about getting featured on their podcast too, it's a really easy way to get connected with people that are doing the thing that you want to do.

89

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: So.

90

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Any other thoughts on that.

91

::

April & Jay: I think it's exactly right. I mean, I think again, just, you know, really get get to the right people. Remember, time is money. Make sure that you know you are. You're reciprocating again, if you're wanting to grow someone, if you do a if you do like.

92

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: You hit mute again.

93

::

April & Jay: You would show, let's say, 3 days a week. Then you should be

94

::

April & Jay: being interviewed 2 to 3 days a week, you know.

95

::

April & Jay: so just make sure you balance it out, especially in that beginning phase for yourself.

96

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist: Absolutely, absolutely. So thank you so much for joining us today. And we'll see you next week when we get together to chat about leveraging your podcasting content in unique ways to maximize your exposure. Thanks for joining us today.

97

April & Jay: Thank you. Joe.
