2

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: She guides clients in building businesses that are profitable, sustainable, and valuable with a focus on strategic planning, sound decision making and leveraging their strengths and those of their teams. Welcome to the show, Lynn. It's really great to have you here.

3

::

Lynne Roe: Thank you so much for having me today.

4

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So

5

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: tell us your story a little bit. How did you get into what you're doing as a

6

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: coach and group facilitator?

7

::

Lynne Roe: A lot of what I focus on with my clients is developing a strategic plan for how they're going to grow their business to where they want it to be.

8

::

Lynne Roe: and I got into it. I got I was a coach already, but then it's just about the time my business I started the business. My daughter was away at college, and she called me, and she said

9

::

Lynne Roe: that she had just fallen down the stairs, and she had a concussion, and would I please come, pick her up.

10

::

Lynne Roe: and of course, you know, we ran up and we picked her up, and we brought her home, and the doctor said, oh, she'll be fine in 2 weeks. Maybe it'll take a little longer. But okay.

11

::

Lynne Roe: we thought, all right, that's great, and she didn't get better right away.

12

::

Lynne Roe: Then they started saying, Well, maybe 2 months.

13

::

Lynne Roe: And then they said, Well, maybe 2 months to 2 years.

14

::

Lynne Roe: And in the meantime I had just started my business, and I had this daughter, who

15

::

Lynne Roe: she was unable to walk without assistance. She was bumping into walls and falling down, and it was. It was a very severe concussion.

16

::

Lynne Roe: and I thought, Wow, this is not good, but how do I keep the business going?

17

::

Lynne Roe: And then it was 2 years to this could be permanent

18

::

Lynne Roe: for her.

19

::

Lynne Roe: and so I really had to think about, how am I going to grow my business? I was so excited about the business. I just started it. I was really excited about getting there.

20

::

Lynne Roe: How am I going to grow the business and make it successful right?

21

::

Lynne Roe: And still be there for my daughter, because, of course, that's something I needed and wanted to do.

22

::

Lynne Roe: And I've done a lot of strategic planning for big corporations and for independent

23

::

Lynne Roe: companies, and also for not-for-profits.

24

::

Lynne Roe: And in the process I'd kind of developed a way of doing it. And then I I said, well, I can apply that strategic plan to myself. How do I develop this business

25

::

Lynne Roe: as a business where I can grow the business and still be there for my daughter.

26

::

Lynne Roe: And so I developed a process for creating a strategic plan for myself and my clients heard about it, and they said, Oh, let's let me try that, see if we can do that together. And so I started doing this process with my clients.

27

::

Lynne Roe: and it was it was great they loved it, and they came up with a really great plan for moving forward.

28

::

Lynne Roe: So that's how I got started with it. In the meantime it was 8 years before my daughter

29

::

Lynne Roe: personality came back.

30

::

Lynne Roe: It was 10 years before she went back to college.

31

::

Lynne Roe: and she just recently graduated from college, so very, very excited and happy that she was able to do that. But it was a very long, very long process.

32

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Wow!

33

::

Lynne Roe: That meant I needed to be there for her very much.

34

::

Lynne Roe: So.

35

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And in the meantime I'm trying to grow a business from the ground up.

36

::

Lynne Roe: Ground up.

37

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And having

38

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I.

39

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's terrible and tragic. What happened to your daughter. But out of that tragedy came this amazing process that can help so many people that are really struggling to scale. And that's really what we're talking about is how to scale without losing your mind, because most entrepreneurs

40

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: they start out, and then they don't have any constraints around them. So they burn themselves out because they they're just like, if I work harder, faster, more better

41

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: do all the things. Then I'm going to have amazing results, and it doesn't always work that way.

42

::

Lynne Roe: It doesn't. My strategic planning always starts with what's the lifestyle that you want to be living

43

::

Lynne Roe: and let's build a business to support that lifestyle rather than the other way around, where your your life is is dedicated to building the business.

44

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And and knowing what the end goal is.

45

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah.

46

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I think so many people just get started. And they're just like.

47

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Can I go for it? And I'm gonna just do it. And

48

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and they have no idea where they're going, what, what their main goal is, what their mission is, and

49

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and how will they know if they've gotten there.

50

::

Lynne Roe: Exactly, and and they end up going off on tangents all the time that are not taking them in the right direction, for where they really want to be, you know. Oh, this looks like a good idea. I'll go do that. This goes like a good idea. I'll go do that. And it's it's a lot of wasted time. It's a lot of

51

::

Lynne Roe: frustration.

52

::

Lynne Roe: and, as you said, they often never get there.

53

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You know they they.

54

::

Lynne Roe: Makes a huge difference.

55

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: In the, in the whole idea. It's where the shiny object syndrome comes in because you have. You don't really have a goal other than you know. You just know you need to make some money. And so you start like grasping at all the straws. But instead of looking at things strategically and saying, Okay, I'm gonna add this because it's gonna support XY, and Z,

56

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you just start

57

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: piling on and hoping something is gonna magically work for you.

58

::

Lynne Roe: That's exactly right.

59

::

Lynne Roe: When start they do. They do that they think about. You know, this is where I want. I just want to make some money. I'll do that. I'll make. I want to make some money. I'll do that. I want to make some money. I'll go do that, and it's not.

60

::

Lynne Roe: it's not taking them in the right direction. Necessarily.

61

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, I mean, there's

62

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I. I can think of ways where you can. That business model does work.

63

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but it's usually in referring. It's an affiliate

64

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: sort of thing where you, you refer people to all of these different shiny objects. But you have a main. You need a miss. You need a business model to like start with rather than just like.

65

::

Lynne Roe: You need a focus to start with. Yeah? And then you can be discerning, this sounds like a great idea, and it's going to take me where I want to go, so I'll go do that.

66

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah, right?

67

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, exactly.

68

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And and sometimes I

69

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: for me personally, because you know, I am that person. I have been that person for many years.

70

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and then I finally realized that I needed to get focused. And I needed to figure out, you know, what

71

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: what am I doing here? What is my main mission, and

72

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: well I know when I reached

73

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: accomplish it. So

74

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I did that. I did that hard work.

75

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but I am still a solopreneur, and

76

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I I do. Honestly, I do go off on tangent sometimes.

77

::

Lynne Roe: We all do right. We all go off on tangents a little bit, but it's it's nice when you have that direction, and you can say to yourself.

78

::

Lynne Roe: Is this a tangent? I should take.

79

::

Lynne Roe: Right.

80

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Do? I have time for it?

81

::

Lynne Roe: Do I have time?

82

::

Lynne Roe: Do I have other resources I might need for it. What's it going to take away from? If I do that because anytime you do something it takes away from something else. So

83

::

Lynne Roe: what is it taking away from? So that I can

84

::

Lynne Roe: plan that out in advance.

85

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

86

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: so

87

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: what is what is your model in terms of like, how do you work with your clients? I I guess, would be the best place to start.

88

::

Lynne Roe: So when I work with clients, I almost always start with that strategic plan developing that plan. And and I do that as a vip intensive. We do it all at once.

89

::

Lynne Roe: takes about 4 h or so to create the plan

90

::

Lynne Roe: for long term, and then from there I work with my clients to

91

::

Lynne Roe: implement the plan right and to stay accountable to to actually achieve the plan.

92

::

Lynne Roe: We do that by coaching every couple of times a week, a month to get to where they want to be.

93

::

Lynne Roe: and then I'm there. Of course, when challenges come up, because challenges always do come up, or as they're growing so fast that they need to make a change because any plan is not a final plan.

94

::

Lynne Roe: It's the start

95

::

Lynne Roe: it gives you direction. It helps you get started. It helps you think things through. So you don't miss some stuff steps. But as the world happens.

96

::

Lynne Roe: things change, and you have to make adjustments to your plan.

97

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So

98

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when it comes to working with your clients and and creating this strategic plan, what is what is a strategic plan? Look like for somebody who's maybe getting into a coaching world or been in the coaching world. And you know they have a few clients, and they're

99

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: they're doing their thing, but they really don't understand how to scale. They don't understand

100

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: how to

101

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: increased

102

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: increase. Their impact

103

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is most of what

104

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the people that I interact with are looking for.

105

::

Lynne Roe: When when you're scaling a business.

106

::

Lynne Roe: it it impacts all areas of the business. So it's it's yes. You need to do more or different marketing. Yes, you maybe need to increase your ability to sell. So your sales.

107

::

Lynne Roe: You also need to focus on your operations that has to expand. And if you're really going to grow the business, let's say you wanted to get to 7 figures.

108

::

Lynne Roe: You can't do it alone. There's no way that there's just no time in your life

109

::

Lynne Roe: to be able to do everything all by yourself. And so you also have to build a team. And so a strategic plan looks at all of those pieces, and then of the the last piece is.

110

::

Lynne Roe: what is the impact or the the client journey? You know that we want them to have. And how can we make that be

111

::

Lynne Roe: an outstanding journey for them?

112

::

Lynne Roe: So the strategic plan looks at all of those areas.

113

::

Lynne Roe: And what do we need to put in place so that those go the way that we want them to go.

114

::

Lynne Roe: And then, with your strategic plan, you're going to look long term, and then you're going to look. Maybe maybe long term is 10 years out for you, perhaps.

115

::

Lynne Roe: And then where do we need to be before that around 3 years. What do we need to do this year? And in my mind a strategic plan really should break it down by quarter and even by month. What are we doing each month? It's not everything you're doing, but it's what are we doing to forward our business towards the outcome that we want each month

116

::

Lynne Roe: in all those areas.

117

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And do you help people in terms of building a team and.

118

::

Lynne Roe: Yes.

119

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Is, that's an outsourcing.

120

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yes, those are things that I know. People are like.

121

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, I tried upworks.

122

::

Lynne Roe: And building a team. It doesn't necessarily have to be full time person. It can certainly be. Sometimes it's

123

::

Lynne Roe: someone who has another has their own business. But they're your support, you know, if they're a tech person, and they do all your tech for you. That's amazing, right?

124

::

Lynne Roe: So that's part of your team, even if it's not a full time team. They have to become part of your team

125

::

Lynne Roe: to get you to where you want to be. So yes, I I definitely help people build the team. And and it really starts with you as the owner of the business.

126

::

Lynne Roe: You have to. You have to change the way that you think.

127

::

Lynne Roe: If you're going to scale, let's say you're going from 6 figures to 7 figures. If you want to make that scaling jump.

128

::

Lynne Roe: You have to stop saying to yourself, How do I do this?

129

::

Lynne Roe: You have to start saying, who can do this for me?

130

::

Lynne Roe: You make that shift in your mind, and then you can start to see. Okay, I need to bring in this person or this type of person to help me.

131

::

Lynne Roe: And sometimes, as I said, that's full time, and sometimes it's a part time thing.

132

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So what do you say to the clients that you have that come at you with

133

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: still want to take the time to train somebody to do this thing that

134

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I know how to do it. I do it really fast.

135

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah.

136

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And I know that you can't do everything but.

137

::

Lynne Roe: You can't. But here's the other thing that that as a business owner you really need to think about.

138

::

Lynne Roe: Are you doing things that are

139

::

Lynne Roe: a $20 an hour job

140

::

Lynne Roe: which is taking away from you, doing the things that are the $1,000 an hour job or $500 an hour job

141

::

Lynne Roe: if you can get someone to do

142

::

Lynne Roe: 10 HA week of the $20 an hour job. So

143

::

Lynne Roe: that means you can devote those 10 h to doing the jobs in your business that you're probably you're not doing now because you don't have time.

144

::

Lynne Roe: The $500 an hour, things or the $1,000 an hour things. And those are the things like

145

::

Lynne Roe: strategic planning, like

146

::

Lynne Roe: sales like marketing those that's those are the kinds of things that

147

::

Lynne Roe: you can pay someone to help you with them. But you actually have to be the face of the business

148

::

Lynne Roe: at that. This size business that we're talking about.

149

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And how do people get from

150

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: being a solopreneur to being

151

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: a CEO of a team, and and really.

152

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: really making 7 figures.

153

::

Lynne Roe: First, st it really has to be a desire to want to be there. And and it's not right for everyone, you know, for some people. A couple of 100,000 is plenty, and they're happy with that.

154

::

Lynne Roe: and maybe they get some help. Maybe they have a bookkeeper part time, and maybe they have an admin person part time, and that that's all they need. And they're happy with that. So, as I said in the beginning, it really starts with, what's the lifestyle you want to be living?

155

::

Lynne Roe: Because if you want

156

::

Lynne Roe: a higher income, if you want more, take home pay. You're going to have to start to build that team.

157

::

Lynne Roe: And then that's the process of okay, where do I start? What's the 1st thing I need? And, as I said often, it's the bookkeeper and the admin person.

158

::

Lynne Roe: Not always, but often. A lot of people say, I just want to hire someone to do the sales for me. Well, honestly, that's 1 of the last things you hire, for.

159

::

Lynne Roe: You know you're you're pretty much over a million before you can hire a salesperson

160

::

Lynne Roe: because you have to be really good at it yourself first.st

161

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yes.

162

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that

163

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's the thing that most coaches hate.

164

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yes, but it's the thing that you

165

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to do.

166

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

167

::

Lynne Roe: And the other thing that actually has to get put in place along the way. And I kind of alluded to this when I was telling you about the different parts of a strategic plan. And that is what are the systems and processes we have to put in place to be efficient with what we're doing, because sometimes you don't have to hire somebody. Sometimes you can create an efficient system for how I'm going to get things done, and

168

::

Lynne Roe: that's not always a digital kind of system. Sometimes sometimes automation is the is the best thing, but sometimes it's as simple as a checklist that your Admin can follow.

169

::

Lynne Roe: But putting those processes in place

170

::

Lynne Roe: helps everybody meet in the on the team become more efficient so that you can handle more work without doing more work.

171

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And I think

172

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: creating those kinds of documents

173

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: as you're doing them yourself. And as you're

174

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: creating the processes while you're doing it yourself helps when you're growing a team, because you can just say, Okay, this is what I was doing. So

175

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: yeah, here, you can follow it. And it can be as simple as just screenshotting your process.

176

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah.

177

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Turning on screen record and recording while you're doing something, and then you can

178

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: upload it to Youtube and put it on private.

179

::

Lynne Roe: I. I highly recommend doing it that way, using loom or one of those programs.

180

::

Lynne Roe: That can can follow your process on the computer. How you do it.

181

::

Lynne Roe: The key to that. There's a couple of keys to that one is, you need to make sure you explain why you're doing things a certain way, because you also need to teach your team

182

::

Lynne Roe: how you think

183

::

Lynne Roe: and why you thought that way.

184

::

Lynne Roe: because otherwise they they always naturally. If you've got a good team, they naturally want to try to improve things. But if they don't understand why you're at

185

::

Lynne Roe: is in the place that you're at, and why you did it this way. To begin with.

186

::

Lynne Roe: they often will skip steps that that, you know, are important, but they didn't realize it because you didn't explain it to them. So telling them along the way, this is why it's important is critical.

187

::

Lynne Roe: And another thing to think about is that

188

::

Lynne Roe: you should not be the person actually writing up your standard operating procedures, or whatever

189

::

Lynne Roe: it should be. You explain it to somebody else, and then they create the standard operating procedure for you. Then they send it back to you, and you review it, and invariably, There, you'll see there's steps that got missed

190

::

Lynne Roe: because you naturally just hit this button and do that

191

::

Lynne Roe: but they didn't know to do that.

192

::

Lynne Roe: and ideally, then you take that same process and you give it to somebody who doesn't know how to do it at all and see how they do.

193

::

Lynne Roe: and then you'll really know what's missing.

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

195

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

196

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Good good points. I think, also, being open to

197

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: input from those that you bring on

198

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is important, especially if you're hiring people that are

199

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: better at you, better than you, at doing what? What you're trying to get done.

200

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, you know you, you may have a process, but in in implementing the system like you're talking about in terms of how to share something with other people. If you have them, write it up and they come back with, okay, this is how you said to do it.

201

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: But this, this and this.

202

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You might look at it this way.

203

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and it gives you another set of eyes to say, oh, I never thought of that!

204

::

Lynne Roe: Right.

205

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And or or I did think of that, and that's not going to work. But

206

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but I appreciate you, you know, thinking of it, too, because maybe there's some merit there, and maybe I need to revisit it because somebody else thought of it.

207

::

Lynne Roe: Absolutely and as a as a solopreneur. In the beginning you often will be hiring. Your team will be people who are better at things than you are. You're not necessarily teaching them how to do the job. You may be teaching them how you do it.

208

::

Lynne Roe: but they already know a lot more than you, and very often they can take you a lot further than if you hire someone who's

209

::

Lynne Roe: totally green and knows nothing and have to teach them from scratch.

210

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Right.

211

::

Lynne Roe: They can help you grow faster because they know more than you.

212

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: When they talk about graphic design in my world, just like.

213

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah.

214

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

215

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: there are people that that understand colors and design, and there's so much to it

216

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: you can.

217

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You can do the the Diy that Diy always looks like Diy.

218

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah. Graphic designers. It's something I don't do. So you've got the advantage on me there. But yes, they can do something so much faster and better than I can

219

::

Lynne Roe: and get and get my same idea across. But it looks so much better.

220

::

Lynne Roe: you know. So

221

::

Lynne Roe: you know, using their expertise is critical.

222

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So let's talk about the money end of things.

223

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because that's that's an important piece in business you were. We're all here to make money

224

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: ultimately by helping other people and making the world a better place. But money is what makes it

225

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: move. So

226

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when when would you suggest people start looking at building teams, or would you?

227

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: How does

228

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: in in terms of income, I mean, where? Where are the jumps?

229

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Because I know that there are jumps in different places.

230

::

Lynne Roe: People always seem to be around 30,000, and they they want to hire a team already, and

231

::

Lynne Roe: it's really too soon.

232

::

Lynne Roe: you know you. I mean you could, but you won't have anything left for you if you do that.

233

::

Lynne Roe: So I usually say.

234

::

Lynne Roe: wait until you're at least over 100 before you start a hundred 1,000 before you start adding team.

235

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: A month or a year.

236

::

Lynne Roe: A year. Yeah, a hundred 1,000 a year. Yeah.

237

::

Lynne Roe: before you start adding a team.

238

::

Lynne Roe: And then it's a part-time, you know, part-time help.

239

::

Lynne Roe: By the time you get over 2 50 you really need a team.

240

::

Lynne Roe: You really need team members. Once you're over 2 50

241

::

Lynne Roe: and then, as I said earlier, I don't think you should hire sales team until you're over a million

242

::

Lynne Roe: in the year.

243

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah.

244

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And when you work with your clients, do you help them as far as marketing

245

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: paid, advertising

246

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: those kinds of things? Or do you.

247

::

Lynne Roe: Not an expert in paid advertising, so I usually recommend that they work with someone who is an expert.

248

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

249

::

Lynne Roe: But that

250

::

Lynne Roe: that all becomes part of the strategic plan. You know. How are we going to have people find out about us, get become aware of us that we even exist.

251

::

Lynne Roe: So part of the strategic plan is, what is the marketing plan?

252

::

Lynne Roe: How are we going? Are we going to use paid advertising. Are we going to use just social media? Are we going to be speaking? Are we going to be going out and doing events, you know, there's there's lots of lots of ways that you could.

253

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Oh, yeah.

254

::

Lynne Roe: You can market yourself so. And you can't do it all. So identifying the few ways that you're really going to focus on. And then that becomes part of the strategic plan.

255

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And you go all in.

256

::

Lynne Roe: Happen.

257

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And then that works in with a plan for your daily operations, which.

258

::

Lynne Roe: Absolutely.

259

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Moves everything together.

260

::

Lynne Roe: Yes, absolutely.

261

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And do you start with?

262

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: These are the boundaries of the time that I have that I want to work on my business. Or do you start with? These are the hours that you must work on your business, and everything else has to fit in around it.

263

::

Lynne Roe: You know, I I really think in some ways that's up to the person.

264

::

Lynne Roe: You know, some people are very specific. I'm only working these hours.

265

::

Lynne Roe: and I'm not doing anything else. So we have to. We have to develop a plan that will work in those hours, and that

266

::

Lynne Roe: could limit their upper upper limit of how much they're going to make. If they're only going to work certain number of hours.

267

::

Lynne Roe: As you grow, you know, you get bigger and you bring on team. You can actually work a few less hours because the team is taking up

268

::

Lynne Roe: the excess.

269

::

Lynne Roe: And as you build more, more processes and procedures and systems that make things run smoothly. You can cut back a few hours there as well.

270

::

Lynne Roe: and still get to where you want to be so.

271

::

Lynne Roe: You know it it, but it does start with what is it you're you're looking to do? Some people I meet are all in. I don't care if I work 12 or 15 HA day. I'm going to do that for the next year, and then

272

::

Lynne Roe: maybe I'll cut back.

273

::

Lynne Roe: Other people are like, Nope, I'm only these hours.

274

::

Lynne Roe: and that's all I'm going to do. And then you build a strategic plan around that. That's why I always start with, what's the lifestyle you want to be living?

275

::

Lynne Roe: Because I I mean, I can. I can build you a plan that will take you

276

::

Lynne Roe: 18 HA day.

277

::

Lynne Roe: 7 days a week.

278

::

Lynne Roe: or we can build a plan. That's, you know.

279

::

Lynne Roe: 10 to 15 HA week.

280

::

Lynne Roe: and at at whatever times you want to be doing it.

281

::

Lynne Roe: It will affect, though, how much you'll be able to make

282

::

Lynne Roe: right. Let me know.

283

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Makes total sense. Yeah.

284

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: so how do people

285

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: really work with you? I mean.

286

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: how do they a find you? B,

287

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: yeah. See if they're a candidate for working with you.

288

::

Lynne Roe: Yeah, so sure, so obviously, I have a website. They can look at my website. Lsr, consultants with an S on it.com

289

::

Lynne Roe: on

290

::

Lynne Roe: you. So you can look at my website, and you can find me that way. But I actually have a free assessment I would love to offer you. It's it's the entrepreneur to CEO assessment, and it's a great way for you to just look at yourself and reflect where you are in your business.

291

::

Lynne Roe: and what you want to do or need to do next, to to scale the business right?

292

::

Lynne Roe: And it just it.

293

::

Lynne Roe: Everyone comes back to me and says, Wow.

294

::

Lynne Roe: I never thought I had all these things I had to be thinking about.

295

::

Lynne Roe: So it's a great tool for you to use. So I'd love to offer you that as a as something you can. You can download, and then, you know, you can find me that way as well.

296

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: That sounds awesome. And I'm definitely gonna go do it because

297

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm curious.

298

::

Lynne Roe: Well, good! I'm glad to hear that.

299

::

Lynne Roe: I'm glad.

300

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So

301

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: what's kind of the the outer limits of of where you would think that people would be like your ideal clients in terms of

302

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: if somebody comes to you and says, I just really want to earn $10,000 a month, and I'm totally happy, and I only want to work.

303

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: maybe 20 HA week.

304

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Is that a client for you, or are you

305

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: more interested in working with people that are already making that kind of money, and they want to scale, or

306

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: where. Where are you?

307

::

Lynne Roe: You know, I work with

308

::

Lynne Roe: people who are just starting a business

309

::

Lynne Roe: and I've helped them scale very rapidly.

310

::

Lynne Roe: I've got one client right now. He had just started his business when we started working together, and he's

311

::

Lynne Roe: on track to hit a million this year. So you know, that's a rapid scaling for me in my mind.

312

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: -

313

::

Lynne Roe: so they can be at that point where they're just starting, or they can be already making 6 figures and wanting to get to 7 figures.

314

::

Lynne Roe: Often what happens is somewhere in that

315

::

Lynne Roe: process of being, you know, somewhere in the 6 figures

316

::

Lynne Roe: they start to realize that they can't do it all themselves. Oh, my God! I'm so busy I have no time for my family. I've no, I never get dinner with my family. I missed vacation.

317

::

Lynne Roe: and so they're they're really feeling frustrated with the fact that they can't get to where they want to be and still have a life.

318

::

Lynne Roe: so. But and those people still want to scale. So the people that I work with are the people who really do want to scale their businesses?

319

::ow, if they're already making:

320

::

Lynne Roe: But if you're if you're at a point in your in your business where you want to really scale the business, then that's when to talk to me.

321

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Awesome.

322

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So

323

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: is there anything that you'd really like to make sure that people know about what you're doing.

324

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that I haven't asked you.

325

::

Lynne Roe: you know, it's interesting. One of the things that I I do is I work with with family businesses, family owned businesses because there's a lot. It's a lot. It's a little more complicated, you know, as the as the business is growing. You've got family members coming in and going out, and

326

::

Lynne Roe: the leadership actually has to change of the of the family business.

327

::

Lynne Roe: So the older generation is on its way out. The younger generation is coming in, and they have very different skills. And so the the whole business has to adjust to accommodate the the loss of the old skills and the and the gain of the new skills.

328

::

Lynne Roe: So that's something I do with a lot of businesses as that are family businesses to help them make that transition before they can scale the business

329

::

Lynne Roe: to where they want to be, and.

330

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And you work with businesses not necessarily on only online businesses or coaches. You, you work with, like all kinds of businesses.

331

::

Lynne Roe: I do. I work with

332

::

Lynne Roe: mostly service-based businesses.

333

::

Lynne Roe: For the most part. But I have

334

::

Lynne Roe: whole lot of variety of types of businesses that I work with.

335

::

Lynne Roe: yeah.

336

::

Lynne Roe: And and also around the world. I have clients in the United States. Many, most of my clients are in the United States, but I also have clients in many other countries around the world.

337

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: The beauties of the Internet. Right.

338

::

Lynne Roe: It is. I keep saying, though to my my client, New Zealand, that I'd really like to have a reason to have to go to New Zealand.

339

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: For sure, it's it's so amazing that we can have relationships with people on the other side of the world. And

340

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's it's really no different than if they live next door other than they have to time travel back to see us.

341

::

Lynne Roe: Exactly.

342

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I love that I've really enjoyed this conversation. Lynn. Is there one thing that you'd hope the audience takes away from our conversation?

343

::

Lynne Roe: That that having a plan for where you're going is really critical. And

344

::

Lynne Roe: I love. I love this analogy.

345

::

Lynne Roe: The average person spends about 15 h planning a vacation, a 1 week vacation.

346

::

Lynne Roe: You plan where to go and how to get there, and what to take with you, and you plan events or so, or special things. So everybody's happy.

347

::

Lynne Roe: But it's rare that I meet a business owner who spends that kind of time planning for the success of their business that's going to pay for that vacation.

348

::

Lynne Roe: Seriously. Take take your business as seriously as you take your vacation

349

::

Lynne Roe: and spend the time to plan for it, because you'll have a much better result.

350

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And faster.

351

::

Lynne Roe: And faster. Yes.

352

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Cause you know where you're going.

353

::

Lynne Roe: Exactly.

354

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Thank you so much for joining me today.

355

::

Lynne Roe: Thank you for having me.
